Multimedia cards, NOT to be confused with:

• CompactFlash cards Type I
• CompactFlash cards Type II
• Secure Digital Multimedia Cards
• Smart Media cards
• or Memory Stick

ALSO not to be confused with:

Multimedia sound cards or Multimedia video cards; PCI cards or AGP cards that can also be referred to as multimedia cards.

Why they didn't choose a simpler name for these cards from the start is a mystery. "Jenny Cards", "Frog cards" or "Baked Potato Cards" would have been a better choice of name than "multimedia cards". The phrase "multimedia" is so generic as to have lost all meaning.
